We've got a new mod required for the Clowns of War OFP server. It's the @Xtra mod that adds three new islands and some new units & vehicles for use with the WW4 mod.

Incubus & Zulu have installed the awesome WW4 mod on CoW. Lots of new weapons and vehicles and enemy AI vastly improved: they are hard-assed, sneaky flanking, deadshot-aiming, strategic thinking m**** f****rs now.

Connect only using the WW4 mod as otherwise you will crash. Mods are available in the downloads section. ZekMod is hosted away from NakedSquid at the moment.

You may have noticed already that there is a new default theme for the website. If your not seeing it click on the My Account link in the User Area then click on Select theme and select 'pnLolclassic' from the drop down menu and save your changes.
The theme is based on an Autotheme called C-Black we had from 2004 - 2007, this theme was lost when the website was moved to a new server last year. So I went about tracking down the original theme, first I used the Internet Archive Wayback Machine to get the name of the old theme, once I had the name I googled it and found it easily enough. I then had to convert this old Autotheme into a Xanthia theme that PostNuke currently supports, I managed to find a conversion kit which was basically a readme detailing which PostNuke files and tags needed renaming. When I had a working theme I then decided to convert it from basic html to xhtml (i.e. from tables to divs) this uses a fraction of the code and makes it a lot easier to edit.



The theme should work ok in Firefox, Opera, IE7 and IE6. If you have any issues with the theme you can PM me or open a new topic (if there is not one open already) in the General Chat/Website section of the forum.

New link added to the download section for Sucheys Marine pack Version 1.1. This is the latest update of Sucheys "Marine Assault Pack". Version 1.1 fixes a few things but of note is the ability with this update to lock on to enemy choppers.

The whole website has now been transferred over to the new server, the DNS has been updated for the site but some people may take a day or so for their ISP providers to update the DNS cache

Majors and Big Top machines are currently down while they are having hardware upgrades done. They are expected to be back in service by Monday

The web server database has now been migrated, I will update this to a newer version of the code in the near future, but for now the code is stable on here.



Some parts of the website are getting redone i.e. the FAQ are being completely rewritten and the downloads are getting split differently

I have just released the installers for the LOL Extra download packs, these are the addons that are installed on Funhouse and ClownsOfWar.

There are 2 installers, one if for people who do not have the original @[LOL] addons and ones for those who already have these

Both are available in the download section



Each will create the addon folders and shortcuts to the two OFP servers. If you choose the @LOLExtras only it will look to see if you have installed the previous @[LOL] addon and create the shortcuts in the same folder and link them to the original installer.

All the maps have been edited on circus to make it easier to select maps off the list, it is available in the download section

Want to be a clown? I know some of you have been called clowns but do you want to be a LOL clown? That's right a clown with a gun. If so grab your make up and your size 28 shoes and inquire inside (thong optional).



Apply in the "Apply Here" section in the forum, be sure to read the requirements just to make sure you have what it takes to be a clown.

LOL has two Armed assault server up and running. One is Circus which hold all sorts of maps and the other is Majors which will once again be a coop only.

Addresses are both on circus.nakedsquid.com currently with one on 2302 and other on 2310 this is subject to change

Backup1: flashpoint.vt100.at:2302 which is a Majors clone with all the mission from the old Majors server.

You can get the correct addons for gaming or editing in the download section, second page, Fulladdons.exe which creates the mod folder needed, so let it do its thing, then just add it to your shortcut

Due to the nature of the FFUR addon and the server crashes it causes due to the coding. Anyone using the addon will be banned until we get assurances from them they will not be using it on this server

Right after a long talk with Wombat about funding and the amount of bandwidth we are eating. To keep the server running it will cost £400 for a six month period. We are going through bandwidth like it is going out of business.

If we can't keep the level sustained then to quote directly it is

The current funding for the server is at £300 at time of post we are £100 short. I have just been given a very tight deadline to get the remaining in. So if we don't hit the £400 mark by 09:00 02/03/06 (GMT) then Wombat will be closing the server. If this happens then all people who have donated will be refunded via paypal. Part of the reason is that he has been funding the server out of his company coffers for a while now.

Part of this is because there are a lot less OFP servers around, this means more people and this means more bandwidth we are eating. So donations are welcome at the usual place

Since people have been struggling with the correct order of installing the addons to make sure there is no problems we have released two new download packs.

The full installer will create a [LOL] addon folder and install the addons in this location and create you a shortcut to the addon from your start menu.

The second addon (rollup) is for thosewho have already downloaded the addons we use. The rollup is set to overwrite the files that where installed by previous addons with the correct final versions. This means if you have installed the addons in the wrong order then this addon is the one for you as it will overwrite the incorrect files with the correct versions.



From now on the new addon packs will support installing to the @[LOL] addon folder as from the full installer and have the option of using the basic /addons folder from inside ofp.

Due to FlashXP addon not being the most compatible of addons int he world we are now going to monitor it's use. Since this addon can force crashes of the server, we will now log uses of the addon and server crashes. If this is obviously an issue we will start banning people for continued use of this addon. The config file has been moddified so that people connecting will see this

I have decided to extend the page which shows the lists of maps on majors (here). As you can now see all the maps that have been completed and had an image submitted have been added to the list. The tick will take you through to the relevant image in the gallery.
This does mean you have an easier way to check which maps have been completed before submitting an image. At the moment only members can update the list of completed maps, but anyone can submit an image to the gallery.

When submitting images please include the binder in the image so the name of the map can be confirmed and the objectives seen

We are going to do some server tuning late one night this week, date to be set. This will mean we are going to be playing a special map to create a fair amount of load and bandwidth
The server will be restarted frequently during this cycle so that we can change settings and tune the server. This is to get the most out of the available bandwidth and get the server performing better.

This means that there will be no proper games during the map just lots and lots of ammo and lots of things to fly and drive and lots of thick AI to blow the living crap out of!

Right the day has finally come. Majors is no more, well it won't be when it is powered back up. We have had the machine for 3 1/2 years and it has been nice and free and on a 100Mb backbone connection.

But since I no longer work at that place, the machine is now needed and is being wiped. I will have time to back up all the stuff from it but Majors will be no more.

The test server can not run as a fully pledge game server due to the amount of bandwidth that it consumes.

Other option may become available but for the time being there will be no public game server

Right the members page has been updated to add in the M.I.A. section. There has also been an update on members accordingly.

Since the TS server has been rebuild and transfered to a new machine, people will have to register again with the system.

This means connect anonymously!

Sadly due to electrical recabling to fix Tuesdays problem with JCB v power line (joy) Majors and TS have been down. This is one of the few times this is beyond my control, power and service will be re-restored in the morning (GMT) when we have people to re-intialise the network (automated- my ass)

After power was restored and resulting fires put out (long story) majors and TS are now both back up and ruuning smoothly

Majors and the download section is currently unavailable. This is due to over eager engineers in charge of a JCB and their meeting of scoop and power cables! Networking is back but power is still out

Liberation Of Loukov V4 has just been updated. I have removed all the mines and readded them to make sure that noone will get the mine error. Mines have also been spread out more to reduce lag so one mine won't detonate the next

Map Pack 3.1 is now available from here

The current intake of testing applications has closed. The members will soon be deciding on who to accept in this intake. There will be another chance to apply soon as we are going to get a decent amount of testers in LOL to increase the turn around on new maps. So keep your eyes peeled

I have upgraded all the servers to BAS Ranger/Delta 1.55 and have made available the download to update the client. This is available at here

You will need to set the installer to overwrite previous files

In case you haven't noticed there is now a most played option in the stats menu. This will allow you to see which are the most popular missions on Majors over the last day, month and total. (here)

The DNS for the TeamSpeak machine will be update tonight, this is to transfer it to a faster machine that is in a machine room. There may be an overlap where some users are connecting to old machine and some to new machine. This will stop once the DNS records have updated successfully.

I will not do any registrations on the old TS machine only on the new one

I have created a download for OFP Watch for those of you that are interested. I have wrapped it up in the LOL inistaller so that it is easier to use and run. You can get it here

I have moved the mission testing chat to a public forum. This means that map makers who are not LOL members can now join in with the discussions.

I have created the [LOL] Map Pack V3.0, this is every map that is currently on Majors

You do not need this pack if you are uptodate with the maps, this is only for people new to the server. As new maps come out V3.1 etc will be released

I have changed all of the LOL downloads that use our installer. This is to make sure they are all compatible with GOTY (Game Of The Year) edition.

People are testing and identifying circuits over this weekend Sat 19th and Sun 20th June. This will affect the game and teamspeak server.
There will be no power available to machines for long periods over the weekend.

Alss there will be 2 short shut downs, one on Saturday, the other on Sunday while the Network cabinet is switched over to and back from a temporary supply.
